AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Will Conley to the Jobs and Education for Texans Grant Program Advisory Board, which expires June 19, 2019.
According to Stephen Chang at the Governor’s Office, Conley was appointed to fill a current unexpired term and will continue to serve the next full term.
The board provides assistance to the Texas Workforce Commission in awarding grant funds associated with the development of new career and technical education programs at public junior colleges, public technical institutes, and independent school districts.
Will Conley of Wimberley is president and founder of Conley Enterprises and is the former County Commissioner for Precinct 3 in Hays County.
He is a member of the South Central Texas Regional Water Planning Group, former commissioner of the Texas Juvenile Probation Commission, and former chair of the Greater San Marcos Partnership, Capital Area Council of Governments, Capital Area Regional Transportation Planning Organization, Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, and the Hays County Veterans Committee.
He is a board member of Texas Regional Bank, member of the Texas State Alumni Association, and a former board member of the Hays County Food Bank and Pioneer Bank. Conley received a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Texas State University.
