AUSTIN — US 290 will get a new driving surface between RM 165 and McGregor Lane in Hays County.
TxDOT states they will be repaving in both directions of US 290 in Hays County, between RM 165 in Henly and McGregor Lane in Dripping Springs, and from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday nights, September 11-22.
The Texas Department of Transportation will repave and re-stripe more than four miles of US 290 in an effort to improve safety. The project includes reducing the existing four lane roadway to three lanes, one lane in either direction with a center-turn lane.
The project contractor for the approximate $816,000 job is Austin Materials.
Drivers should allow extra time to travel through this area during the affected hours. TxDOT asks motorists to be patient and remain aware when traveling through the work zone.
