Corey Carothers, D.D.S. Named New CTMC Foundation Chairperson

SAN MARCOS, TEXAS—The CTMC Foundation announced Corey Carothers, D.D.S. as the new Chairperson on Friday, January 11. His new duties include managing, directing and supervising board members, presiding over board meetings and appointing board members to committees and other groups.

“I am honored to serve as the CTMC Foundation Board Chairperson,” said Dr. Carothers. “This is an exciting opportunity to help better one of the staples of the San Marcos Community in Central Texas Medical Center.”

Dr. Carothers is an active member of the community.

He served three years on the San Marcos Planning and Zoning Commission and has been a member of the Wednesday Rotary organization since 2012, serving on their board for two years.

Dr. Carothers holds a seat on the Texas Regional Bank advisory board and is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Associate, Texas Dental Association and the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce.

He moved to San Marcos in 2007 with his wife to practice dentistry alongside Clay Sullivan, D.D.S. After three years of working together, the two formed a partnership in Sullivan and Carothers Dental, which is now Carothers Family Dental.

Dr. Carothers is taking over for Scott Yarbrough, who has served as the CTMC Foundation Chairperson for the past two years.

“Scott has done a wonderful job over the past two years,” said CTMC President/CEO Anthony Stahl. “Under his leadership, the Foundation enabled CTMC to continue providing quality and holistic care, as well as, grow our orthopedic and imaging departments. I have greatly enjoyed working with him and look forward to building a similar relationship with Dr. Carothers as he assumes the position of Chairperson.”
