Cowboy Jamboree Awaits Texas State Cross Country Teams

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Saturday morning sees the Texas State cross country teams compete in Stillwater, Oklahoma at the Cowboy Jamboree hosted by Oklahoma State. The women will run the 5K race at 9:15 a.m. and the seventh-ranked men’s team in the South Central region will start the 8K race around 9:45 a.m.

 

The only teams from the South Central region that the Bobcats will run against at the meet are Abilene Christian and Stephen F. Austin. Other notable competition teams are Oklahoma State, Kansas State and Tulsa. The Cowboys and Golden Hurricanes men’s teams are ranked first and third in the Midwest region, respectively.

 

Jose Angel Gonzalez has paced the Bobcats men’s team in the first two meets this year. He recorded a sixth place finish at the Baylor Twilight Invitational and followed by finishing fourth at the Justin Cooper Invitational. Leading the Texas State women in both competitions has been Madilyn King.
