Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) will honor its longest-serving employee, Lucy Leal, with a special reception Tuesday, March 10 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Lucy, an outpatient surgery aid, has dedicated 60 years of service to the hospital.
The Diamond Anniversary celebration will feature a proclamation from San Marcos Mayor Jane Hughson, and a special gift will be presented to Lucy to honor her for the years she has spent providing compassionate care to surgical patients and their families.
Lucy began her career at CTMC as a housekeeper but later transitioned to the progressive care unit and surgery department because of her value as a bilingual Spanish speaker.
She has been an important team member for surgeons in the Hays County medical community. Lucy first worked at CTMC’s I-35 location until the new facility was constructed in 1984 on Wonder World Drive.
