Because of their academic achievements, community involvement and future career goals, 5 outstanding San Marcos seniors were awarded with a scholarship from Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) at a reception on May 15.

Congratulations to Andres Aparicio, Jessica Garcia, Jovanna Gerardo, Emily Holmes and Jacob “Jake” McGee for their accomplishments. The students received $1,000 to be applied to tuition, books and/or living expenses during their first year in college.

Other area students who received a scholarship from CTMC are:
  • Maria Andrea Alegria – Lehman High School (Kyle)
  • Araceli Rangel – Lehman High School (Kyle)
  • Matthew Overton – Lockhart High School
  • Katlin Schiefelbein – Lockhart High School
  • Julissa Trevino- Lockhart High School

As evidence of its efforts to extend its mission beyond caring for patients, CTMC has been awarding scholarships to area high school seniors since 1997.

“We are pleased to have the opportunity to reward such deserving students with funds that will help them in their upcoming college careers,” said CTMC CEO/President Sam Huenergardt.
