San Marcos, Texas – The Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) Foundation will present its 24th annual Stars of Texas Gala on Sunday, October 8 at Embassy Suites Hotel, Spa and Conference Center in San Marcos. Hays County’s premiere black tie event will feature gourmet dining and a unique mobile silent auction.
In addition, this year’s gala will pay a special tribute to CTMC nurses who have devoted 25 years or more of service. The nurses who will be honored are: Janie Aguilar, Sharon Ash, Wendy Brown, Denise Cagle, Bobbie Finn, Cathy Forsell, Sherry McCoy, Patrice Meany, Janie Mott, Dolores Quintanilla, Vera Serrano and Julie Veidt.
“We are pleased that the CTMC Foundation plans to honor these dedicated nurses, who are truly the heartbeat of our patient care,” said CTMC Chief Nursing Officer Elsie Graves. “Each of these nurses have committed more than two decades of their lives to providing excellent care to our community, which has helped drive the hospital’s outstanding patient experience.”
This year’s gala will feature entertainment by Herman’s Hermits featuring Peter Noone. The award-winning English rock band has sold more than 60 million records, including seven gold albums.
Each year, the Stars of Texas Gala supports service and technology expansions that keep CTMC on the leading edge. This year’s proceeds will benefit the hospital’s orthopedic surgery program.
Tickets to the Gala cost $200. To purchase tickets, or for sponsorship information, visit ctmcgala.com.
