WHAT:          “We Love Lucy” event, honoring Lucy Leal for 55 years of service

WHERE:          Embassy Suites, 1001 E. McCarty Lane in San Marcos, Texas

WHEN:           Monday, March 23, 2015 from 3 to 5 p.m.

Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) will honor its longest serving employee, Lucy Leal, with a special reception on Monday, March 23 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Embassy Suites Conference Center in San Marcos. Lucy, an outpatient surgery aid, has dedicated 55 years of service to the hospital.

The “We Love Lucy” event will feature a proclamation from San Marcos Mayor Daniel Guerrero, and a special gift will be presented to Lucy to honor her for the years she has spent providing compassionate assistance to surgical patients.

Lucy grew up in Seguin and began her career at CTMC as a housekeeper. She later transitioned to the progressive care unit because her bilingual skills made her an asset to the nursing staff. She joined the CTMC surgery department in the 1990s and has been an important team member for surgeons in the Hays County medical community. Lucy first worked at CTMC’s I-35 location until the new facility was constructed in 1984 on Wonder World Drive.

We invite you to join us for this unique photo and feature story opportunity.
