SAN MARCOS, TEXAS – The first baby of the New Year made his grand entrance at Central Texas Medical Center’s Women’s Center 7:28 p.m. on January 1, 2019.
Baby Boy Cruz became San Marcos’ newest resident, weighing in at six pounds, 15 ounces. Proud parents Richard Cruz and Alexis Zapata are still deciding on a name for their newest addition, who joins big sister Ariela to make them a family of four.
“We are very happy to be expanding our family,” said Zapata.
In 2018, CTMC’s Women’s Center delivered more than 700 babies. The state-of-the-art Women’s Center includes all private rooms, a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) an on-site, high-risk delivery suite and a customized cesarean section suite.
CTMC also offers expanded childbirth education and certified breastfeeding support. All programs are offered in both English and Spanish. Classes cover a variety of topics including Childbirth Education for First-Time Moms, Childbirth Refresher, Cesarean Sections, Breastfeeding and Lactation Consultation.
