SAN MARCOS, TEXAS – As the final preparations are being made for the 25th Annual Stars of Texas Gala, the Central Texas Medical Center Foundation announced Mentalist David Magee will headline the night’s entertainment.

Joining Magee on the program are Michael Goudeau, Pasha & Aliona and Christopher Hart. Hays County’s premiere black-tie event will take place Sunday, October 7 at the Embassy Suites Hotel, Spa and Conference Center in San Marcos.

Continuously acclaimed as one of America’s Top Sleight of Hand Artist and manipulator of the mind, Magee is continually sought after as one of the country’s top Corporate Entertainers and has been proclaimed by Nolan Ryan to be the “Entertainer’s Entertainer.”

He has been featured on national television talk shows, and recently received the International Magician Society’s Merlin Award for Mentalist of the Year.

Goudeau has spent 26 years performing his juggling comedy routine in Las Vegas, amassing over 15,000 appearances as the special guest artist in the Lance Burton Show. The husband and wife variety dance team of Pasha and Aliona are known for entertaining audiences with elegance, humor and unique acrobatic choreography.

They have appeared on several television shows and have performed around the globe. Hart has traveled the world with his unique and visual magic act, which features his “living glove” routine that he has performed on numerous European and American television specials.

“We are excited to bring this impressive lineup to the Stars of Texas Gala,” said Anthony Stahl, CTMC President/CEO. “For the past 24 years, the Gala has been a remarkable event that has kept CTMC at the forefront of medical technology, and I expect the 25th to be the best yet.”

This year’s Gala will pay tribute to pioneering advocate for global nutrition Eleanor Crook. As one of the original founding members of the CTMC Foundation Board of Directors in 1982, she was instrumental in turning Central Texas Medical Center into what it is today.

Crook, along with eight other members, raised nearly $1 million to purchase the land where the hospital is located today. The Board’s vision lives on today with CTMC continuing to care for the San Marcos and Hays County community as it has done since 1923.

Each year, the Stars of Texas Gala proceeds support service and technology expansions that keep CTMC on the cutting edge. This year’s proceeds will benefit 3D Mammography, a revolutionary screening and diagnostic breast imaging tool to improve early detection of breast cancer.
