San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District is making strides to engage its students in learning every day.
Here is a quick look at what SMCISD students and staff were up to the week of December 7 thru December 14.
SMCISD congratulated the district’s Daily Victory Physical Challenge winners from the district’s Central Office, San Marcos High School and Travis Elementary. The Human Resources Department challenged district employees to work out as much as they could for 30 days. Winners were awarded prizes donated by Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union.
RivasSan Marcos High School senior and criminal justice student, Bryanna J. Rivas, was selected to intern for the Hays County Constable’s office.
In addition to her internship, Rivas also serves as a Hays Constable Pct. 1 Explorer.
In other news, Hernandez Elementary School second grade students visited the University of Texas in Austin and attended a performance of the Nutcracker on Wednesday, December 12.
Blaze Pizza helped support the San Marcos High School choir with a fundraiser on Tuesday, December 11. Between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM, patrons of the pizzeria were able to show San Marcos Blaze Pizza an event flyer before paying to have 20 percent of the proceeds from their meal given to SMHS Choir.
In other news, the San Marcos High School Rattler Band Program will present A Snow Day in Texas.
Parents and residents are invited to enjoy a day of music on Saturday, Dec. 15 at 3 PM inside the SMHS Performing Arts Center.
