“I am proud of the work I have done on the school board to improve the district for the students, faculty and staff, and patrons of San Marcos CISD,” Arredondo said. “I am honored to serve as their trustee and hope to continue to serve another term there is still important work to be done.”
Among issues Arredondo pledges to continue to work on are keeping class sizes small, balancing the budget, raising academic expectations for all students, and ensuring that the district provides fair and competitive compensation for all employees, he said. “We have made great strides, but there is always room for improvement and I have a proven record of putting students first, improving outcomes for our families and strengthening the middle class of San Marcos through educational reform,” said Arredondo.
“I will continue to work hard to serve my community,” Arredondo said. “I am running for reelection to ensure our district continues to address student achievement, being good stewards of our community’s tax dollars and manages our district’s growth responsibly.”
Arredondo, a fifth-generation San Marcan whose family has a legacy of public service, currently serves on the board of United Way of Hays and Caldwell Counties and Centro Cultural Hispano de San Marcos.
Arredondo has served on the school board since May of 2015, having won 72 percent of the vote in a special election to fill an unexpired term.
Supporters are invited to attend Arredondo’s reelection kick-off celebration on Wednesday, January 25, at Rogelio’s Restaurant, located at 625 South LBJ Dr. in San Marcos, from 6 to 8 p.m.
