Buda Rabies Alert in Downtown on the 100 Block of Houston Street

On March 1, 2017, a dead bat was found on the 100 block of Houston St. at approximately 1:13 p.m on the ground near the roadway.

On March 1, 2017, a dead bat was found on the 100 block of Houston St. at approximately 1:13 p.m on the ground near the roadway. The bat was tested by the Department of State Health Services. Because the bat was decomposed, health officials could not determine if it had rabies. However, In these situations the state treats this as a positive rabies case.
