“When we created this position, Dr. Johannsen stood out as a phenomenal candidate,” shared CTMC Chief Executive Officer Sam Huenergardt. “His leadership skills and ability to analyze complex problems made him a logical choice for CMO. He is a great communicator who can help us further develop the culture we are building here at CTMC.”

Dr. Johannsen has served as an emergency medicine physician at CTMC since 2009 and has worked in many leadership roles on the medical staff, including chief of staff in 2012 and medical director of the Emergency Department for six years.

Dr. Johannsen noted, “I appreciate the support and opportunity to function in this capacity. We have a wonderful group of people here at CTMC that includes ancillary services, nurses, healthcare providers and administrative leaders. Attempting to communicate and integrate the necessary objectives of all parties in order to be successful in today’s healthcare environment, I look forward to advancing our goals in expanding our services and providing exceptional patient care.”
