Dripping Springs Announces Date For Holiday Festivities

San Marcos and Austin aren’t the only local community with its own holiday celebrations and traditions. Dripping Springs turn the city aglow with a day of festivities.

Dripping Springs, Texas – The hometown holiday glow of Dripping Springs will return Saturday, December 2 with the 13th Annual Christmas on Mercer Street.  Admission is free to the public.

Hosted by the City of Dripping Springs and Dripping Springs Lions Club, the downtown festivities will feature an old-fashioned holiday celebration on Mercer Street from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with live music and entertainment, arts and crafts booths, kid’s games and activities, a trackless train and pony rides, photos with Santa Claus, and a festive selection of food and drinks.

With Mercer Street closed off to traffic, you will see the downtown area transformed into a winter wonderland of brilliant illumination, holiday sales, and Christmas cheer.

The annual Lighting of the Tree will be held at the Triangle at 6:15 p.m. Christmas carolers representing local churches and schools will serenade with heart-warming, traditional Christmas Carols at the tree lighting ceremony.

Event sponsors are needed. Sponsorships are available at various levels of support. All of the money raised will pay for the event or go back to the community through various Lions Club programs.

Admission to the festival is free because of the many sponsors and donors who generously provide festival security, sanitation, barricades, trash pick-up and other services for the event.

Interested vendors, both food and arts and crafts, can download applications with instructions on the City’s website to reserve a 10’ x 10’ booth. The booth fee is $100. Electricity is provided at request.

Sponsorship and vendor application forms can also be found on the City’s website, www.cityofdrippingsprings.com. Click on the events tab and choose Christmas on Mercer.
