Dripping Springs Farmers Market once again ranked #1 in Texas, Southwest

DRIPPING SPRINGS, TEXAS – For the third time in four years, Dripping Springs has the title as the number-one Farmers Market in Texas. This comes after a three-month-long nationwide vote organized by American Farmland Trust.

The contest, which celebrates Farmers Markets across the country, not only recognizes the Dripping Springs Farmers Market as number-one in Texas but also ranks it atop the Southwest region. Markets were voted on by patrons and shoppers at thousands of farmers markets across the United States.

Running from June 21 to September 19, 2021, the 13th annual America’s Farmers Market Celebration helped raise visibility of Farmers Markets and the issues their providers face, helping make a difference for farmers, ranchers, and communities.

“It has been an honor to be part of this community that recognizes the importance of local food and art,” said Gouri Johansen, Chair of the DSFM Board. “I am very proud of the vendors and market staff for providing excellent products and service to our customers.”

“I’m grateful for the Dripping Springs Farmers Market,” said Nikki Dahlin with the DSFM Board. “To be able to buy the most nourishing local foods and fine crafts in one place on a weekly basis is a rare privilege. It’s a chance to learn about how wholesome food is raised and prepared, and to build valuable connections in a festive environment. I’m fortunate and delighted to be able to participate.”

“It was a marathon of a celebration and we’re all thrilled to have regained the top spot,” said Market Manager, Charlie Reed. “That the market has once again been recognized is a testament to the quality our local providers bring week after week, as well as the vibrancy and enthusiasm of the Dripping Springs community.”

The Dripping Springs Farmers Market is operated by the City of Dripping Springs and a volunteer board of directors. The market is held every Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park, also known as “The Triangle,” located at the RR 12/U.S. 290 intersection.
