Dripping Springs ISD announces two new elementary principals

Staff Reports

DRIPPING SPRINGS – At the April 26 meeting, the Dripping Springs ISD Board of Trustees approved two new elementary principals: Jamie Eubanks as the principal of Dripping Springs Elementary and Kirsten Bloomfield as principal of Sycamore Springs Elementary.

Ms. Eubanks has been the assistant principal at DSE for the past four years, assisting in all areas of school administration, and serving as a bilingual contact for students and families in that program. Before coming to Dripping Springs, Ms. Eubanks served as principal of East Austin College Prep School for one year after one year as an instructional facilitator there. She started her career as a Spanish teacher at Lake Travis High School, where she worked from 2007-15, after two years in a similar role at New Braunfels High School.

“I am excited about this wonderful opportunity to serve our school community to which I feel deeply connected,” she said. “I am eager to continue leading alongside such amazing staff, students and parents to provide an exceptional educational experience for every student who walks through our doors!”

Ms. Eubanks earned both her bachelor’s (Spanish) and master’s (educational administration) degrees from Texas State University.

Ms. Bloomfield comes to Dripping Springs from Douglas County, Colo., where she has served as principal of Iron Horse Elementary for the past five years. Prior to taking the reins at Iron Horse, she spent several years at Pioneer Elementary in that same district as an assistant principal and teacher.

“I am thrilled to have been named as the new principal of Sycamore Springs Elementary School,” said Bloomfield. “I can’t wait to begin developing strong relationships and bonds with the staff, students, and families at SSE. I am looking forward to a fantastic year!”

Ms. Bloomfield earned her bachelor’s degree from Metropolitan State College in Denver (Elementary Education), and master’s degree from both Grand Canyon University (Curriculum and Instruction) and Jones International University (Educational Leadership).

Ms. Eubanks will begin transitioning into her new role immediately as current DSE Principal Kellie Raymond prepares to open the new Cypress Springs Elementary. Ms. Bloomfield takes over the principal position from Kristen Ray, who is DSISD’s new director of Elementary Education. She is expected to start in the district on June 1, 2021.
