Dripping Springs ISD Considers Alternate Plan For Administrative Building

In a previous plan, the Town Center, owned by the school district, would be constructed into a new district administration building.

Dripping Springs Independent School District officials have considered moving administration staff to Walnut Springs Elementary. The existing elementary school would be remodeled into an administration building.

In a previous plan, the Town Center, owned by the school district, would be constructed into a new district administration building.

A new Dripping Springs library would be constructed adjacent to the new facility with a meeting center in the middle of the layout. District officials are concerned about the cost of the Town Center and rapidly increasing enrollment.

Other concepts for the Town Center project, approved by officials of the Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ), include a new city hall, town square and a county precinct office as well as space for a farmer’s market that would be financed using revenue from TIRZ 1 and TIRZ 2. The school district is working with members of its facilities planning committee that will present a recommendation on an alternate plan for the elementary school.
