Early Voting For San Marcos Starts Dec. 1

San Marcos voters will choose a new Mayor and two new City Council members

Early voting for the Dec. 13, 2016, San Marcos City Council runoff election begins Thursday, Dec. 1 at designated early polling places.

 

Runoff Election Day will be held Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at designated polling places provided below.

 

San Marcos voters will choose a mayor and two City Council members (Place 2, as well as the unexpired term of Place 3). Voting precincts and locations can be found at www.sanmarcostx.gov/elections or by calling the Hays County Elections Administrator at 512.393.7310.

 

On the ballot for Mayor and City Council are:

  • Mayor: Ruben Becerra, John Thomaides
  • Council Member, Place 2: Saul Gonzales, Shane Scott
  • Council Member, Place 3: Ed Mihalkanin, Jason Dalton Montgomery

Early voting will take place at the following locations for San Marcos voters:

Hays County Government Center Conference Room, 712 S. Stagecoach Trail, San Marcos

  • Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Friday, Dec. 2, 2016 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Monday, Dec. 5, 2016 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. 
  • Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016 through Friday, Dec. 9, 2016 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Hays County Health Department, 401 A Broadway Street

  • Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Monday, Dec. 5, 2016 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Texas State University, LBJ Student Center, 700 Student Center Drive

  • Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Voters will be required to show one of the following forms of photo identification before voting:

  • Texas driver license issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS)
  • Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS
  • Texas personal identification card issued by DPS
  • Texas concealed handgun license issued by DPS
  • United States military identification card containing the person’s photograph
  • United States citizenship certificate containing the person’s photograph
  • United States passport

 

Voters who do not have any of the acceptable forms of photo identification listed above will be required to present one of the following forms of supporting forms of ID:

  • Valid voter registration certificate
  • Certified birth certificate (must be an original)
  • Copy of or original current utility bill
  • Copy of or original bank statement
  • Copy of or original government check
  • Copy of or original paycheck
  • Copy of or original government document with your name and an address (original required if it contains a photograph)
