Easter Seals Leadership takes Worker Safety to Heart and Janitorial Services Team now using Innovative, Green Products from local business R-Water

Easter Seals’ core purpose is to promote independence and create opportunities for people with disabilities to pursue their hopes and dreams. One such opportunity provides employment through crucial janitorial services for the community; a pioneering, self-funded, and sustainable business.

That’s why Easter Seals was ecstatic to recently receive R-Water’s advanced disinfecting and cleaning technology, to reduce exposure risks associated with common cleaning chemicals.

R-Water LLC, a Texas based WOSB, ( Woman Owned Small Business,) manufactures a wall- mount device that enables facilities to generate a nontoxic, one-step cleaner disinfectant, (TK60) and a multi-surface cleaner (FC+) on-site, using only electricity, softened water, and pure salt. These solutions replace a variety of hazardous cleaning, sanitizing, disinfecting, and deodorizing chemicals.

Both solutions can be used safely on a variety of surfaces, and do not contain allergy causing perfumes or dyes. TK60 and FC+ are not harmful to humans or animals, do not require PPE when handling, and can be safely discharged down drains.

TK60 and FC+ are dispensed RTU (ready to use,) with no mixing or diluting necessary. On-site, RTU production eliminates a facilities need to store or mix hazardous chemicals and comply with the rigorous disposal practices OSHA and the EPA require of hazardous chemical containers.

Wally Colvin, Director of Easter Seals Janitorial Services is happy he won’t be spending his time dropping off hazardous chemical containers to the city of Austin for processing. “You can’t throw these hazardous containers in the dumpster. They’re required to be dropped with the city. We’re glad to be taking a burden off the City of Austin in their efforts to keep the city green.”

The workers are also very pleased with the new technology. “We don’t have to mix those [chemicals] anymore? That will be really good for us,” commented one worker, as he walked by the installation.

The advantages of using R-Water’s device to produce non-toxic disinfecting and cleaning solutions were recently reviewed by the Texas Department of the Aging and Disability Services.
