SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Greater San Marcos Partnership (GSMP), the economic development organization for Hays and Caldwell Counties, will host the 2021 Texas Innovation Corridor Economic Outlook, a live-and-virtual event that will examine the data, issues, and strategies impacting the region’s economy over the next year.
The event is slated for Thursday, Dec. 9, from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Embassy Suites/San Marcos Conference Center.
The event’s keynote panel is comprised of four economists who will provide an interactive discussion that will cover the outlook for the U.S. economy and investment markets, as well as perspectives and insights specific to the Central and South Texas economies.
The panel will be moderated by Alan Adelman, senior fund manager and senior research analyst for Frost Bank. He will be joined by Thomas Bergeron, senior fund manager and senior research analyst for Frost Bank; Jonathan Waite, senior research analyst for Frost Bank; and Belinda Román, a professor of economics at St. Mary’s University and lead economist for Román Economics.
In addition, the Economic Outlook event will host a second panel of local experts who will share insights on how the current environment has altered their approach to thriving in today’s economy.
Moderated by GSMP President Jason Giulietti, this panel will feature Donny Hirsch, director of corporate manufacturing at Thermon Industries; Jessica Rudman, branch manager at Priority Personnel; and Shilpa Amin, owner of Stonebridge Hotels, LLC.
“Texas has been steadfast in its response to COVID-19, and the success of that strategy is evident in the unparalleled investment we have seen over the last year,” said Giulietti. “GSMP’s Economic Outlook will explore how the Texas Innovation Corridor has had a key role in those results and what we expect to see moving forward.”
Virtual and in-person tickets for the general public can be purchased online through EventBrite. In-person attendees will be required to follow COVID-19 safety protocols.
