Emergency Management Coordinator Of San Marcos Elected To State Board

Staff Reports

On Thursday, the City of San Marcos announced San Marcos Emergency Management Coordinator, Rachel Ingle, is the newest elected member of the Board of Directors for the Emergency Management Association of Texas (EMAT).

The EMAT is dedicated to the advancement of the field of emergency management both statewide and nationally. Ingle was nominated by the EMAT President and elected by the general membership.

EMAT engages in an array of efforts to advance a statewide emergency management agenda and to promote the professional growth of the emergency management practitioner.

The Board of Directors is responsible for establishing the strategic oversight or direction of the association. Strategic Planning is used to define strategies, set priorities, focus efforts and resources, and ensure the association and its members are working toward common goals.

Ingle has been with the City of San Marcos since November 2017. She has emergency management experience in the states of Florida, North Dakota and Tennessee, as well as serving as an Emergency Management Technician with the United States Air Force at Spangdahlem Air Force Base in Germany.

“This is an important State Board that influences both the state and national emergency management goals and implementation,” said San Marcos City Manager Bert Lumbreras. “Rachel will be a great asset as a board member and San Marcos is proud she is being recognized as a state leader for the EMAT Organization.”

The EMAT Board of Directors consists of eighteen members; twelve regional members, five at large members and one corporate member.
