Erosion Controls Used During Construction Topic of City Public Meeting

On Thursday, Jan. 29, the City Engineering Department and Public Services will host an informative public meeting titled “Erosion & Sedimentation Protection during Construction”. The meeting will be held in the multi-purpose room at the San Marcos Activity Center, 501 E Hopkins, at 6 p.m.

Numerous construction projects around town, along with recent rains, have highlighted the importance of using best management practices to control stormwater runoff on construction sites. This presentation will explain the regulatory process, typical sedimentation control methods, discuss the challenges faced on construction projects, and describe the City’s roles and responsibilities in various construction projects.

City project managers, staff and certified environmental experts will be in attendance to answer any questions.

All interested citizens are encouraged to attend.
