Farmer Fred’s Harvest Fall Carnival to Transform City Park for Beloved Annual Event

Farmer Fred’s Harvest Fall Carnival is right around the corner! The City of San Marcos-Parks and Recreation Department invites the community and visitors to join the fun on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 6 – 9 p.m. at City Park, 170 Charles Austin Drive.

 

With the help of local sponsors, new and returning volunteers, and various organizations, this event is free to the public. The spooky night includes carnival games, arts and crafts, and additional family activities available for all ages to enjoy.

 

After sundown, “The Nut Job,” rated PG, will be shown on the portable movie screen. A concession stand selling popcorn, hot dogs, drinks and other items will be provided throughout the evening by Texas State’s Association of Recreation Enthusiasts, and a “haunted” hayride and a barrel train ride will also be offered for a minimal cost.

 

Come dressed in a prize-winning costume and enter the Children’s Costume Contest. Children aged infant to 12 years old can register for the costume contest from 6 – 6:45 p.m.at the event. This contest is grouped by age and first, second, and third places will be awarded and recognized. The age groups and times are as follows:

 

·         Registration for all ages: 6 – 6:45p.m.

·         3 years and under: 7 p.m.

·         4 – 6 years old: 7:30 p.m.

·         7 – 9 years old: 8:00 p.m.

·         10 – 12 years old: 8:30 p.m.
