MLK, Jr. Kids’ Crafts And Fun With Dunbar Heritage Association

 

“I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave-owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.”

Children of all ages and their families are invited to join the Dunbar Heritage Association for a celebration of the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. at the San Marcos Public Library on Saturday, Jan. 13, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The celebration will begin with children’s’ stories about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., read aloud by leaders or the Dunbar Heritage Association. Children will then be guided through creative crafts. Library staff and volunteers will be on hand to help youngsters create wreaths and mobiles that relate to the revered speeches and dreams of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Hope to participate in an area MLK, Jr. March or rally? At this event, participants are invited to create their own poster for the upcoming annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day parades. Poster materials will be provided.

This family-friendly event is open to children of all ages, free of charge. All craft and poster materials will be provided.
