Eye of the Dog Art Center’s Annual Holiday Show & Sale To Celebrate 25 Years & Flood Recovery

SAN MARCOS, TEXAS – Despite devastating damage to the Eye of the Dog Art Center (EOTDAC) campus and home of its founders during the Halloween Flood, the 25th Annual Home Show & Holiday Sale will go on as planned.  Just like turkey and dressing, the Thanksgiving tradition will continue Nov. 28 and 29 when EOTDAC will host more than 40 different area artists who will be displaying and selling their custom creations, including ceramics, fiber, jewelry, painting, assemblage and sculpture.

“Billy and I are so humbled by the response, encouragement, and donations from many area artists, friends, volunteers – even complete strangers – who came to our aid immediately following the flood and over the past two weeks, that we decided we had to host the show for them,” says Beverly Mangham, event co-organizer and co-owner of the growing Art Center she and her husband Billy Ray Mangham have been creating on a 12 acre site since purchasing it in 1989.

“The Holiday Home Show is about family and community, and this year, that’s even truer. We’re looking forward to seeing so many dear friends who have already helped us tremendously in our recovery efforts and especially showing them that you can’t keep the Dog down” she adds.

Even with the storm damage, the campus of EOTDAC offers those who attend the show a true visual treat. The eclectic site features a mix of art installations, unique buildings — including a large studio and Gallery – and a wooded courtyard that serves as home to an outdoor kitchen, stage and more than 30 vendor booths.

The two-day event is free to enter and park. The Show & Sale is slated to take place Sat. from 10 a.m. – 9p.m. (including liv e music and refreshments Sat. evening) and Sun. from Noon – 4 p.m.

EOTDAC is located at 405 Valley View West Rd. in San Marcos. For more information about their 25th Annual Home Show and Holiday Sale, please call (512) 558-1723, email: beverlymangham@gmail.com or visit www.eyeofthedog.com
