All dance classes are free.
SMTX Yoga is adding another Gentle Yoga class on Thurs. from 9 to 10:15 AM beginning Sept. 5 and has created a separate schedule of Mediation workshops that will be offered at 11:30 a.m. on the third Fridays in Sept., Nov. and Dec. Margaret Falletta will return with Beginner Tai Chi at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, Sept. 4, and an Intermediate class on Thursday at 1 PM. Each of these classes has a small fee which varies by instructor and class.
Upcoming art opportunities range from a new community Call for Art: “Peace & Understanding,” which will be accepting submissions Oct. 14 and 15. Workshops in the works include LifeLong Learning’s offering of Creative Calligraphy with Michael Hannon on Tuesday evenings beginning Sept. 17 and plans for more mosaic and basket weaving sessions later in the fall.
Some of the Center’s free dance and art opportunities are made possible in part through grant funds from the San Marcos Arts Commission. A portion of any proceeds from the sale of art on display benefits the Price Center, which is operated by the Greater San Marcos Area Seniors Association (GSMASA), a 501 (c) 3 non-profit.
Dues paying membership in the Price Center is not required to attend any of the offerings; however; if you’re a regular visitor, the GSMASA requests that you become a dues-paying member ($35 annually). A complete list of Center offerings is available at 222 W. San Antonio St. Mon. – Fri., 9-5 PM, or you may visit price-center.org or Facebook @ Price Center & Garden for more.
