Spring is here, and it is time to celebrate at the annual Farmer Fred’s Garden Spring Carnival. The City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department invites community members and visitors of all ages to join them on Thursday, March 29 from 6-9 p.m. at San Marcos Plaza Park, located at 206 N C M Allen Parkway.

Featuring carnival games, a variety of activities and the highly anticipated egg hunt, the Spring Carnival is fun for all. There will be pictures with the bunny for $3, along with train rides and concessions for a small price.

The egg hunt will be held at City Park and is divided into the following age groups:

  • 1-3 years old – 6:15 p.m.
  • 4-5 years old – 6:45 p.m.
  • 6-9 years old – 7:15 p.m.
  • 10-12 years old – 7:45 p.m.

This beloved community tradition is free to the public thanks to the support of generous sponsors and volunteers. At this time, volunteers are still needed to help run the carnival booths.

If an individual, organization or a business is interested in staffing a booth, they can call 512.393.8249 or email Catherine Marler at  cmarler@sanmarcostx.gov to sign up.
