Delegates from the First United Methodist Church were recognized by the San Marcos CISD School Board on Monday, December 12, 2016, and given a commemorative plaque made by San Marcos High School students.
Superintendent Michael Cardona said, “Whether it is calm or crisis, SMCISD has cherished our partnership with First United Methodist. They are first in line when our families are affected by floods or other problems—bringing clothes, food, and school supplies. As soon as school started this year, representatives from the church brought a check for $875.57 specifically for the Rattler Closet to help families in need, and that is just the tip of the iceberg as to their giving.”
