FM 150 Character Plan Meeting Will Focus On Road Upgrade, Realignment Ideas

Hays County Courthouse, San Marcos, TX – Hays County continues to plan for the future along FM 150 as it works with community members to preserve the character of the roadway, and is encouraging the public to learn about the latest planning ideas at a July 11 meeting in Dripping Springs.

“Over the past two-and-a-half years we’ve held meetings and asked for input from those who live along and who travel FM 150, and on July 11 more of the concept plans and alignments will be shared,” Precinct 4 Commissioner Ray Whisenant said. “Safety and mobility is a prime consideration for us as our county grows, but we also want to retain what makes that area of Hays County unique and want to hear from members of the public about their vision for the roadway.”

Instrumental in the plan development process to date have been five public meetings attended by more than 530 people, a Citizens Advisory Panel that guided the process by meeting regularly with the project team through 18 open meetings that drew more than 360 attendees, and 450 comments received from the public.

“The July 11 meeting will focus on the area from Arroyo Ranch Road outside of Kyle to RM 12 in Dripping Springs,” Precinct 3 Commissioner Will Conley said. “We want to share ideas for a proposed bypass location and conceptual designs for the sections that should be upgraded.”

Plans and maps will be available from 6 to 8 p.m. July 11 at the Dripping Springs High School cafeteria (parking lot C is easiest access), 940 U.S. 290, Dripping Springs.
