Food Bank Calls On Community To Help Keep Hays County Families Fed This Summer

No school meals, cuts to SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), reduced work hours, loss of a job, and more can lead to hungry households in the summer.

One in seven in Hays County, or roughly 25,000 individuals, aren’t getting enough to eat.

There is enough food for all, and Hays County Food Bank is working hard to redistribute resources so that everyone gets fed. The food bank needs your help to continue to battle hunger here, though. Will you join the fight?

Help End Hunger at H-E-B

Each summer, H-E-B stores join the fight against hunger and encourage shoppers to give back. Shoppers can help end hunger $1, $3, or $5 at a time. Simply tear off your desired donation amount and the cashier will add it to your bill.

It’s as easy as that! Your donation at H-E-B stores in San Marcos will benefit Hays County Food Bank. This campaign ends on June 25th.

Lend A Hand

While the vast majority of people like to donate during the holiday season, the food bank wants to remind everyone that they fight hunger all year long. In a time when donations wane, the food bank campaigns to keep shelves stocked, vans fueled, lights on, refrigerators cooling, and operations running smoothly. Will you lend a hand and participate in this annual campaign to help keep Hays County families fed?
