Former Director of Community Services Rodney Cobb has been named the President of USA Softball following the conclusion of the 88th Annual USA Softball Council Meeting in Sparks, Nev. on November 15.
“I never once dreamed when I started playing four decades ago that I’d one day be President of USA Softball,” said Cobb. “I am humbled at the opportunity, but I’m also excited about it. USA Softball is a great organization and we’re going to get even better as we move forward.”
Cobb served with the City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department for 40 years, beginning as an Activity Supervisor on December 20, 1979, and rising through the ranks until being named Executive Director of Community Services in March 2012.
Under Cobb’s tenure, the City completed the Rio Vista Project which changed the “falls” to the chutes we have today, the construction of the Activity Center, the softball complex and the Rec Hall. Cobb retired from the City of San Marcos on January 31, 2019.
