On Monday, July 27, the City of San Marcos Engineering and Capital Improvements Department will begin construction efforts to replace a sewer main on Fredericksburg Street between Hopkins and San Antonio Streets.
Motorists can expect lane closures during construction.
This project will replace approximately 300 feet of sewer main that has deteriorated due to age.
The main will be replaced by a method called pipe bursting that minimizes the need for open excavation of the roadway and will considerably reduce construction time.
The work is expected to be complete in mid-August, weather permitting. Motorists and pedestrians are reminded to use caution in and around construction zones.
For more information about this project please contact the Engineering and Capital Improvements Department at 512.393.8130 or email enginfo@sanmarcostx.gov.
