Free Swing On The Square Concerts, Brisket Fundraiser Comes To San Marcos

San Marcos, TX – The Price Center will host two free, outdoor, Western Swing concerts in its Garden on Sat., April 8 as part of the annual Swing on the Square Festivities April 7-9 in downtown San Marcos.

The first performance from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. will feature Larry Lange and the Lonestar Troubadours. The Hot Texas Swing Band will take the stage from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m.

In addition, Hays County Constable David Peterson will be selling his famous BBQ Brisket Plates from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. and again from 3:30 – 6p.m. for $8 including all the usual trimmings.

Water, Tea, sodas, and desserts will also be available for separate purchase that day. All proceeds from food sales will benefit the Price Center, a 501 (c) (3) operated by the Greater San Marcos Area Seniors Association.

“There is just something about swing music that makes you want to get up and dance and sing along,” explains Al Dresden, the Swing on the Square coordinator.  “Swing on the Square always leaves me with such a happy feeling; it is definitely an event that everyone should experience.”

The Swing on the Square concerts at the Price Center are free and open to the public. Interested concert goers are invited to bring a blanket or lawn chairs and find a nice spot in the Garden.

Brisket plates may be purchased the day of the event beginning at 11 a.m. or in advance at the Price Center and Main Street offices Mon. – Fri. now through April 7.
