The Friends of the Library will hold their Fall Book sale at City Park Rec Hall, 170 Charles Austin Drive Oct. 19-21.
On Friday, paperback books are $1, and hardcover books are $2. Saturday prices are 50 cents for paperbacks and $1 for hardbacks. On Sunday, residents can take home a whole bag of books for just $5.
The Friends of the Library is a volunteer organization dedicated to strengthening the library through fundraising, volunteer work, and advocacy. New members are always welcome.
Membership applications can be acquired at the information desk at the library.
Every year the Friends of the Library hold two book sales – one in fall and one in the spring. Each book sale results in $3,000 to $4,000 that the Friends of the Library can use to support the community in important ways.
The funds from these book sales are used in a variety of ways – from supporting the library in their book and ebook collections; promoting special events such as the Summer Reading Program and the GED program; purchasing furniture and equipment; and covering special expenses when they arise.
