Fugitive Eludes Attorney General’s Fugitive Unit And SMPD

The San Marcos Police Department were involved in the search for a fugitive, who slipped away from the Attorney General’s Fugitive Unit yesterday.

The Attorney General’s office called SMPD for help after the fugitive fled custody.  Authorities searched the area near Saddlebrook neighborhood for several hours until the AG’s office called it off.

Neither the Attorney General’s office nor SMPD could release the name of the fugitive or anything specific on the investigation as it is still on going. However, police said they do not believe the man is dangerous, and he is not wanted for any violent offenses.
