The mission of the Gary Job Corps Community Relations Council is to “Develop a relationship with the local community that raises awareness of the Gary Job Corps Center and help contributed to the community through partnership, volunteering, work based learning, and general student support.
Gary Job Corps students and staff, Community Relations Council members, Travis Elementary and San Marcos Embassy Suites staff donated $1,1000.00 to the Salvation Army for the Hurricane Harvey Relief efforts.
The Community Relations Council members have participated in many: fundraising efforts following natural disasters, caroling at local nursing homes, donations to children and women shelters, volunteering in the community activities with the San Marcos and Kyle Chamber of Commerce, Sights and Sounds of San Marcos, and the cities of Kyle, Luling, Martindale, Driftwood, Wimberley, and San Marcos.
