The Gary Job Corps Center has participated in the Juneteenth Parade and the BBQ Cook-off for the past 15 years.
Many organizations participated in the early morning Parade celebrating Juneteenth, the day when on June 19, 1865 the slaves in Texas learned of the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation.
