Gary Job Corps participates in Juneteenth Parade and BBQ Cook-off

The Gary Job Corps Center has participated in the Juneteenth Parade and the BBQ Cook-off for the past 15 years.

Many organizations participated in the early morning Parade celebrating Juneteenth, the day when on June 19, 1865 the slaves in Texas learned of the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation.

Pictured right: The Gary Student Government Association students and  SGA Coordinator Hope Henry,  in the Juneteenth Parade are members of the San Marcos City Council; Mayor John Thomaides, Councilmen,  Saul Gonzales, Ed Mihalkanin,  Scott Gregson, and Councilwoman Jane Hughson, Constable David Peterson, and Gary BCL Randolph Goodman.
