The students assisted the Hays County Food Bank in loading and distributing 2969 lbs. of food for Hays County residents at Dunbar Distribution Center in San Marcos. Over 103 families were served. Students and staff from the Gary Center have continually partnered with the Hays County Food Bank in collecting food and funds during extreme times of need and have assisted quarterly in receiving and storing donations at the food bank. Additionally, HOPE students have assisted in collecting donations for the San Marcos Youth Council, Hays-Caldwell County Women’s Center, caroling during Christmas at local nursing homes, and decorating Mother’s Day cakes at Travis Elementary.
