Gary’s Community Relations Council Hosts Education Administration Appreciation Luncheon

The Gary Community Relations Council would like to express their heartfelt appreciation for all of our local educators and would like to recognize them for the work they do with our youth.

The Gary Job Corps’ Community Relations Council (CRC) and the United States Army sponsored the Education Administration Appreciation Luncheon held at the San Marcos Embassy Suites and Conference Center.

Lonnie Hall, Gary Job Corps’ Center Director and featured speaker shared with the educators, “you all have such a challenge daily in ensuring the education of our youth. I am happy that we can show our appreciation of what you do every day.”

If I had a gold mine I would give all of you gold.” Captain Michael McCown, US Army Recruiting and Elva Zdeb, President of the CRC, also addressed the audience speaking on the challenges that they have daily in the changing environment in education.

The Gary Community Relations Council would like to express their heartfelt appreciation for all of our local educators and would like to recognize them for the work they do with our youth.

The CRC has participated in many projects in the community.

Just a few of the previous events were hosting an appreciation luncheon for law enforcement, hosting an appreciation luncheon for workforce partners, collecting books and funds for the Martindale Library, celebrating Mother’s and Father’s Day at local nursing homes with greeting cards and cookies, Christmas caroling at local nursing homes, participating in “Reading Across America” at Travis Elementary, and collecting used linens/towels and funds for San Marcos Animal Shelter to name a few.

Present were representatives: from Seguin ISD, Texas State University, Austin Community College, Lockhart High School AFJROTC, Comal ISD, Canyon Lake High School, San Marcos Chamber of Commerce, Office of Congressman Lamar Smith, Hays CISD, San Marcos CISD, Wimberley ISD, and Gary Job Corps’ Community Relations Council.
