GNMS Art Show Highlights Student Talent at Family Night

On Tuesday, March 3, 2015, the Owen Goodnight Middle School hosted Family Night, taking the opportunity to showcase the talents of sixth, seventh, and eighth grade UIL award-winning artists. 
The art work included the best of paintings, drawings, and three-dimensional constructions created under the guidance of art teachers Obdulia Lombardo and Sandra Neal.
The awards included: UIL 1st place drawing winner, 6th grader Elise Hutchinson and UIL 1st place drawing winner, 7th grader Alberto Vara. Additional sixth grade UIL winners were: Alex Chynoweth’s 3rd place paper mache snake, Ivan Rodriguez’s 2nd place drawing, Jose Chynoweth’s 3rd place drawing, Angel Melendez’s 2nd place painting, Jazlynn Alize Proa’s 3rd place painting, and Sage Dutton’s4th place painting.
Seventh grade winners featured were: Oscar Moreno’s 2nd place painting, Aaron Emerich’s 3rd place painting, Mary Jane Aguilar’s 2nd place 3-D, and Lorilei Helton’s 3rd place 3-D. In 8th grade art, Richard Carmona took 1st place honors and Ethan Ramirez took 3rd place—both in the miscellaneous category.
