Go Wheels Up! Texas 2020 Postponed Indefinitely

FREDERICK, MD — Go Wheels Up! Texas and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) have decided to indefinitely postpone Go Wheels Up! Texas and the AOPA Fly-In scheduled for May 29 and 30 in San Marcos, Texas.

The decision was made given the rapidly evolving situation around the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC’s) recommendation to avoid large gatherings, and out of an abundance of caution for our members, attendees, vendors, and staff.

Go Wheels Up! Texas and AOPA will be working together to consider an alternate date to hold the co-located event either later in 2020 or in 2021.

Officials said unfortunately with the growing concern over a widespread outbreak, AOPA and Go Wheels Up! Texas believes they all must do their part to contain the virus by limiting travel and interactions to reduce everyone’s risk of exposure and potential strain on the healthcare system, according to officials.

The AOPA fly-ins in Casper, Wyoming, and Rochester, New York, planned for June 19-20 and September 11-12, respectively, will occur as scheduled. However, officials encourage pilots to monitor AOPA media channels for updates.

“We appreciate your continued support as we all navigate these uncertain times together,” officials said.
