Governor Abbott Appoints Five To The Lower Neches Valley Authority Board Of Directors

Governor Abbott has appointed Jeanie Turk, Lonnie Grissom and reappointed Ivy Pate for terms set to expire on July 28, 2021 to the Lower Neches Valley Authority Board of Directors. The Governor additionally appointed Steve Lucas for a term to expire on July 28, 2019 and Kal Kincaid for a term to expire on July 28, 2017.
 
The Lower Neches Valley Authority has a duty to conserve, control and utilize the waters of the Neches River and its tributaries including storm and flood waters; authorizing the storing, controlling, conservation and distribution of storm and flood waters of the Neches River and its tributaries, within and/ or without such district, for irrigation, domestic, industrial and municipal uses, and also for hydroelectric power. The Authority may also sponsor and participate in an economic development program within the areas served by the Authority intended to strengthen the economic base and further the economic development of the state.
 
Jeanie Turk of Sour Lake is the owner and broker of two REMAX offices. She is a member of the Houston Association of Realtors, Texas Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors and the Graduate Realtor Institute. Additionally, she is a graduate of Leadership Southeast Texas and current chair of the Hardin County W.C.I.D # 1 Flood and Drainage Committee. Turk attended Louisiana State University and Lamar University.
 
Lonnie Grissom of Woodville is president of Golden Pine, Inc. He is a board member for the Texas Forestry Association. He is a former board member for Woodville Independent School District and the Woodville Rotary Club. Grissom joined the United States Army after graduation from Kirby High School and received an honorable discharge after 4 years of service.
 
Ivy Pate of Beaumont is a regional vice president of Christus Southeast Texas Health System.  She is a member of the American Hospital Association, Texas Hospital Association, Association for Healthcare Philanthropy and the Planned Giving Council of Houston. Additionally, she is a member of the Rotary Club of Beaumont and the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce, and is the 2015 Athena Leadership Award Recipient for Excellence in Leadership. Pate received a Bachelor of Arts from Lamar University.
 
Steve Lucas of Beaumont is executive vice president and advisory director for Post Oak Bank. He is treasurer for the Rotary Club of Beaumont, board member and past president/chairman of the United Way of Beaumont and co-chair of the Administrative Board for Wesley United Methodist Church. Additionally, he is past president and current member of the Beaumont Public Schools Foundation Board of Directors, as well as serving as a school business partnership volunteer at Beaumont Independent School District. Lucas received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Lamar University.
 
Kal Kincaid of Beaumont is president of APAC-Texas, a civil construction company. He is a board member and transportation chairman for the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce, board member of Habitat for Humanity, chairman of Lamar University’s Construction Management Advisory Board and member of the Beaumont Rotary Club.  Kincaid received a Bachelor of Science from Lamar University.
