Governor Declaring 5 Emergency Items, Including Education
 
 
Governor Greg Abbott today issued five proclamations declaring emergency items to be immediately considered by the 84th Legislature of the state of Texas. Governor Abbott announced early education, higher education research initiatives, border security funding, transportation funding, and ethics reforms as emergency items in Tuesday’s State of the State address.

The Governor’s issuance of an emergency item message to the Legislature enables that measure to be considered within the first 60 days of the legislative session.
