Governor Orders Flags To Half-Staff, AG Paxton Releases Statement Regarding Deadly Shooting In El Paso

On Sunday morning, Governor Greg Abbott ordered Texas flags across the state to be lowered to half-staff in memory of those who lost their lives in the shooting in El Paso on Saturday, August 3 and should remain at half-staff through sunset on Thursday, August 8, 2019.

Also in the state, Attorney General Ken Paxton released the following statement regarding Saturday’s shooting at a Walmart in the Cielo Vista Mall area of El Paso:

“As tragic news comes from El Paso, my office stands ready to give full support to all federal, state and local law enforcement who are on the scene now and to those who will be conducting the ongoing investigation. Our deepest sympathies and prayers extend to all the people of El Paso, especially those who have been directly impacted by this tragedy.”
