Grande Communications, the Texas based broadband communications company, is honored to report that Grande Cares, the company’s employee philanthropy club, has reached a significant milestone giving back three million dollars to the communities where they live and serve since its inception in 2001.
Grande Cares, which also includes GEMS — the program’s college scholarship fund, has provided grants to such San Marcos organizations as San Marcos Bluebonnet Lions Club, Blue Santa and Hays County Women’s Center.
The Grande Cares Club is governed by Grande employees and funded by employee donations.
“Grande Cares was created to make a difference and to help those in need. It is so rewarding to see the powerful impact this program has made in our local communities– a true testament to employee commitment and generosity,” said James Jordan, Grande Cares board president.
Grande Cares recently presented a check for $2000 to the Hays-Caldwell Woman’s Shelter.
