Green New Deal Ranks #1 For The Second Week And We Have The GND’s Original FAQ Sheet!

Yesterday, Congress.Gov, released the top ten most-viewed bills list for the week ending February 15, 2019. These bills can be past or present and everyone has access.

U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez‘ (AOC) inaugural house bill holds the number one spot for the second week in a row.

Additionally, below is included the original FAQ Sheet that was published on the AOC’s House webpage and has since been removed.

It includes many items that have been reported by the national media including, whether the resolution is considered a carbon tax, cows, farmers, airplanes, higher education, ALL new buildings throughout in the U.S., “economic security for all who are unable or unwilling to work,” and many other items.

Currently the resolution has 68 co-sponsors, two of which are Texas representatives and nearly every major Democratic Presidential contenders has said they back the Green New deal.

Rep. Joaquin Castro [D-TX-20], a 2020 presidential candidate and Rep. Veronica Escobar [D-TX-16] have signed on as co-sponsors. Castro announced his 2020 bid for president on January 20.

Congress.gov supersedes the THOMAS system which was retired on July 5, 2016. Congress.gov was released in beta in September 2012. The THOMAS URL was redirected to Congress.gov in 2013. The beta label was removed in 2014.

The scope of data collections and system functionality have continued to expand since THOMAS was launched in January 1995, when the 104th Congress convened. THOMAS was produced after Congressional leadership directed the Library of Congress to make federal legislative information freely available to the public.
