San Marcos, Texas – The Greater San Marcos Partnership (GSMP), the regional economic development organization for Hays and Caldwell counties, and Texas State University’s I-Corps Site for Entrepreneurship will host the GSMP Innovation Quick Pitch competition on October 23rd from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at McCoy College of Business, Minifie Academic Atrium (fourth floor, 708 N Comanche St., San Marcos, TX 78666).
The competitive event will reward the best new, innovative and implementable business ideas with cash awards.
“Our region is known as the heart of the Texas Innovation Corridor and a growing center for innovation,” said Adriana Cruz, President of the Greater San Marcos Partnership. “The Innovation Quick Pitch competition allows us to support and recognize the ingenuity of aspiring entrepreneurs that could someday be major employers in the community.”
Two competitive tracks are available for the entrepreneur competitors. Track 1 is open to graduate and undergraduate students. Track 2 is open to community members of Hays and Caldwell Counties, including the faculty of Texas State University. At least $500 in prize money will be awarded to the winners of each competitive track.
Applications for the competition are to be submitted/emailed in the form of a 90-second video to TxStWEW@txstate.edu. Deadline to submit is October 16. Additional information for submitting the application video can be found at entrepreneur.txstate.edu/Events/Quick-Pitch.

The Greater San Marcos Partnership Innovation Quick Pitch Competition is one of a series of events jointly supported by GSMP and Texas State University during Women Entrepreneurship Week from October 19th to 26th. This includes the opening event entitled Through the Ceiling: Discussion & Networking with Women Executives on Monday October 21 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at McCoy’s Building Supply Corporate Headquarters (1350 I-35 N). This event and all the others featured at entrepreneur.txstate.edu are free and open to the public. Seating is limited and registration is required.
