H-E-B To Honor 53 Austin-Area Partners During Women Of Distinction Celebration

H-E-B hopes that honoring Partners with this award will inspire more women to pursue leadership opportunities with H-E-B in the future.

H-E-B will honor 53 female Partners (employees) for their devotion to excellence and civic leadership during a special celebration known as the H-E-B Women of Distinction on Wednesday, April 26 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Long Center for the Performing Arts.

Since the program’s inception in 2000, more than 4,000 female Partners throughout the state of Texas have been recognized and celebrated for their contributions to both the company and to their community.

Austin’s Fire Chief Rhoda Mae Kerr will be the keynote speaker. Chief Kerr began her career in the fire services in 1983. She also serves as President of the Metropolitan “Metro” Fire Chiefs Association and immediate Past President of the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC); that honor was the first time a woman had been elected to that position in the IAFC’s 143-year history.

Winners are nominated by their peers and are selected based on a variety of qualities, including their dedication to excellence in customer service and their positive impact on co-workers.

During the ceremony, each winner will be given a special badge pin as a token of appreciation for their excellence.

The Women of Distinction events are an example of H-E-B’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. H-E-B hopes that honoring Partners with this award will inspire more women to pursue leadership opportunities with H-E-B in the future.

The Women of Distinction award was inspired by H-E-B’s founder, Florence Butt, who opened a small grocery store in Kerrville 111 years ago. Florence’s personal values charted a successful course for H-E-B that lives on in the company’s continued commitment to its Partners and Customers.
