HASM Home Tour & Ace In The Hole Band

HASM Home Tour & Ace In The Hole Band

Don’t miss your opportunity to experience the annual Heritage Association of San Marcos (HASM) Home Tour “Manors, Mancaves, Meadows & a Pigsty,” slated for this weekend, May 2 and 3 from noon to 5 p.m.  A special evening of legendary music with the Texas Jamm Band featuring members of George Strait’s original Ace in the Hole Band on May 2 will highlight the annual heritage celebration.

This year’s tour begins on the historic Courthouse Square in downtown San Marcos where small busses with costumed tour guides will deliver tour goers to the front door of each Historic District house, sharing historical vignettes as they go.

Eight unique homes throughout San Marcos were chosen to appeal to younger people just getting started in their own homes or empty nesters looking to downsize or redesign their homes because all of the featured homes are filled with inspirational ways to rework, reuse and otherwise repurpose vintage buildings and furnishings.

In addition, eight Ace in the Hole band members will be “coming home” on May 2, including local Hays and Comal Country residents Mike Daily, Ronnie Huckaby, Benny McArthur, and Joe Manuel; and lead vocalists Haydn Vitera, Tom Batts, and Dan Dreeben. The sound is mixed by the legendary Paul Rogers, Strait’s production manager for the past 31 years.  Band members have promised to share stories of their early San Marcos days as well as of their millions of miles of touring the world.

The Marc, also located on the historic Square, offers concert goers an opportunity to dance on the ground floor as well as enjoy preferred VIP seating upstairs.  Other highlights for the concert include full, cash-bar service on both levels and a buffet featuring heavy hors d’oevres and desserts in the VIP section.

Pre-event tickets are still on sale. The cost is $15 if purchased in advance, either in person from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at the Chamber of Commerce or Main Street offices, or online at www.HeritageSanMarcos.org. Tickets are also available for $20 on either day of the Tour.

Seating for Saturday’s Concert is strictly limited to 350 attendees, and tickets for this event can be purchased only in advance, in combination with tour tickets. For more information on the tour please call Cathy Dillon, Home Tour Chair at (512) 787-6294.
